Fear of the Dark es el noveno álbum de estudio de la banda de la Nueva ola del heavy metal británico Iron Maiden, salió a la venta el día 11 de mayo de 1992 figurando como número 2 en el ranking británico.
Este álbum marca un importante hito: sería el último que grabarían con Bruce Dickinson hasta su reunión para el Brave New World, el vocalista sería reemplazado por un viejo conocido de la banda, Blaze Bayley.

I am a man who walks alone
And when I’m walking a dark road
At night or strolling through the park
When the light begins to change
I sometimes feel a little strange
A little anxious when it’s dark

Sometimes when you’re scared to take a look
At the corner of the room

Thought you heard footsteps behind
And turned around and no one’s there?
And as you quicken up your pace
You find it hard to look again
Because you’re sure there’s someone there
Watching horror films the night before
Debating wiches and folklore
The unkown troubles on your mind
Maybe your mind is playing tricks
You sense and suddenly eyes fix
On dancing shadows from behind
